Moët & Chandon is one of the most iconic champagne brands. The house was founded in 1743 by Claude Moët in the Champagne region of France and has played a major role in the champagne industry ever since. Claude Moët started by selling wine from his own vineyards to the Parisian aristocracy. His success led to the creation of Moët & Chandon.
In the 19th century, the house expanded its influence, thanks in particular to the passion of Claude's grandson, Jean-Rémy Moët, who brought champagne to a wider audience.
The Moët chalk quarries, with their impressive underground galleries, offer ideal conditions for maturing the champagnes.
Today the house is part of the French LVMH group.
