Vintage 2016 L'egoïste

L'égoiste is a cuvée blanc de blancs millésimé from 2016. The chardonnays come from 3 Grand Cru terroirs: Oiry, Chouilly and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.
This champagne was aged for 10 months on fine lees, primarily in tanks (78%) and oak barrels (22%), and then spent almost 8 years on lees in the cellar. This results in an elegant champagne with aromas of brioche and candied fruit.

Pertois-Lebrun has existed in Cramant since the 20th century and the 2 brothers Antoine and Clément are the new generation who run the champagne house.
As the only branch of the family, they were able to take over the house from their aunt Odile. The relatively young house was started in 1955 by Paul Pertois (from Cramant) and Françoise Lebrun (from Mesnil-sur-Oger). Odile's successor was assisted since 2004 by the young Clément, whose love of nature and desire for independence first felt the call to move from Provence to the north. His brother Antoine, now working as a consultant in Paris, followed him later with the idea of making this entrepreneurial adventure a success together with his brother.
The 9.5 hectares of vineyards are located in the grand cru villages of Cramant, Mesnil-sur-Oger, Chouilly, Oger & Oiry and the premier cru villages of Cuis and Villeneuve. The house from Cramant has been HVE and VDC certified since 2019. Chardonnay is the only grape used and is divided over 44 plots. From thirst-quenchingly delicious basic cuvée 'l'Extravertie' to exciting and complex single-plot vintage champagnes.
