About Egly-Ouriet

When Francis Egly took over the family estate at a young age in 1980, he resolutely embraced traditional, pesticide-free methods. Inspired by his travels to Burgundy, he introduced barrel aging and extended cellar aging. This made him one of the pioneers of the quality movement that emerged in Champagne in the 1990s.

The estate encompasses over 12 hectares in the Montagne de Reims and the Vallée de la Marne, primarily growing Pinot Noir and small plantings of Chardonnay and Meunier. Old vines in Grand Cru villages like Ambonnay, Bouzy, and Verzy form the heart of the estate. Today, his two children are gradually taking over the estate.
