About Eric Taillet

In the 1960s, the Taillet family began making champagne around Montigny, in the heart of the Marne Valley, after two generations of vines. In 1995, their son, Eric, took over the estate and gave it a new lease of life. Today, it encompasses six hectares around Baslieux sous Châtillon, more than eighty percent of which are planted with Meunier, his absolute favorite grape.

To give Meunier greater recognition, Eric founded the Meunier Institute. In the vineyard, he works without chemicals and encourages biodiversity, including by planting beech hedges around the plots. In the cellar, he experiments with varieties like Pinot Gris and Petit Meslier. His champagnes are expressive and become more exciting every year, while his children, Léna and Dylan, are slowly taking over.
