About Cristal

Cristal was first bottled in 1876 for Tsar Alexander II of Russia, who was so enthusiastic that he reserved entire cases for the court. The champagne is produced by Louis Roederer, sourced from prestigious Grand Cru vineyards covering over 240 hectares. Since then, Cristal has been considered one of the house's iconic cuvées.

Cristal is produced exclusively in peak vintages, when Chardonnay and Pinot Noir reach their ideal ripeness. The long aging process adds complexity and depth. On average, the champagne is released a year after disgorging, allowing it to further refine and develop in the bottle.
