Clément & fils
Just south of Épernay you'll find the village of Congy. It's where young Aurélien Clément is making small quantities of champagnes. After studying wine production in Avize, he joined the business of his uncle, a champagne maker since the eighties. Aurélien's first production year was 2017: he made 9000 bottles.
The 6.5 hectares domain Clément & fils is located in the Marne valley, close to Congy. During his first vintage year Aurélien stopped the use of herbicides in the vineyards, he aims to work certified organically within a few years. The names of his champagnes refer to the plants and flowers that now form the cover crop between the vines.
The Clement & fils champagnes are dry, fresh and adventurous: the hand of a beginning maker is evident. We are looking forward to following the next steps by Aurélien Clément.
