Since 1910, champagne has been marketed under the name 'Margaine' by the house from Villers-Marmery, located in the Montagne de Reims. In this village it is not the characteristic Pinot Noir that is planted. Chardonnay predominates in the eastern tip of this area.

In the champagnes of this house you will mainly find chardonnay in the blends. Chemicals are excluded from the vineyards and they are working on strengthening biodiversity. After four generations of men at the helm, with Arnaud Margaine as the current winemaker, the baton is slowly being passed on to daughter Mathilde Margaine.
