Egly-Ouriet
The name Egly-Ouriet is synonymous of high quality. When Francis Egly (1962) took over the family business from his father Michel at a young age in 1980, he immediately focused on craftsmanship, working without pesticides and all the more patience. We can rightly place Egly among the first generation of champagne farmers who breathed so much life into the wine region.
The estate comprises over 17 hectares of vineyards, of which about three quarters are planted with Pinot Noir. Chardonnay and Meunier form the smaller part. Most of the vines are decades old and are located around Grand Cru Ambonnay. His winemaking style finds its inspiration in Burgundy, with long maturation on the lees and in oak barrels.
